Kickstarter Focus: Heroes of the Home Front Book

This is a history book unlike anything I have seen, Heroes of the Home Front presents us over 300 pages of backstory along with detailed information on WWII Bell Features artists and reproduces over 150 pages of original artwork based on Canadian comic books during the ‘Golden Age!’

Watch the video by Ivan Kocmarek, a retired school teacher who has donated his time researching these wartime comics that represented Canada at the time and turn them into this amazing archive of knowledge.

Did you know that Canada banned American Comics during the Second World War and then issued its own homegrown comics in Vancouver, Montreal and Toronto? One Toronto company was Bell Features, and it put out comics touting the exploits of heroes like Nelvana, Johnny Canuck, Speed Savage, The Brain, Nitro, and many more!

For CA$70 you will receive a hard cover version of Heroes of the Home Front to fight on any comic collectors’ bookshelf, for CA$20 you will receive a PDF version to read on your Tablet or Smart Phone. There are goodies to tantalize all taste buds from trading cards to reprinted golden age comics to original artwork!
