REVIEW: BLACK EYED KIDS #11

Aftershock is a force to be reckoned with these days with releasing some amazing titles. Black Eyed Kids is dark, bleak and just all the right amount of creepy. With it being based off an urban legend of the Black Eyed Children stories circling the internet a few years back, this series is sure to deliver on the amount of strange stories and creepy kids. These seemingly regular kids could just walk up to your door, seem normal and then before you know it you’re in danger and there is nothing you can do about it.

Joe Pruetts story just gets better and better every time a new issue comes out. With every addition to the story being even more creepy and more answers and questions pop up on the table leaving the reader wanting more. A comic doesn’t succeed if it leaves you wanting to put it down and never return. This does the opposite every time! Keeping you interested every page, this is glorious. This issue opening up with Andrew looking through his fridge and getting a knock on his door from his brother and a few other people. We get to see a few Black Eyed Kids in this issue, seeing them every time seems like they are more organized. Like there is some big picture happening in the background, and I love every second of it. Not going to get into the end of the issue but interesting things transpire we get to see some great panels near the end that leaves me with some questions of my own.

Szymon Kudranski is the Co-creator and Artist for B.E.K and he does some great work on this. Just capturing the frightening and eerie look of these children with black soulless eyes. Some of my favorite are near the end of the issue and once you see them I’m sure you will agree. I’m so curious of what this has to tell and how the artist will portray these things. Love every second of reading and looking at this book

Phenomenal. Such a great read for anyone interested in horror/mystery themed comic books. Go pick it up, you will not regret this read. As i said at the start, Black Eyed Kids is dark, bleak and just all the right amount of creepy. 5 Stars

Writing – 5 Stars
