REVIEW: BEAR WITH ME: EPISODE 2

Bear with me is an indie game with a Point & Click play-style, with the release of episode 1 back in September getting great coverage on YouTube and getting some pretty good reviews. Episode 2 picks up where episode 1 left off, With Ted and Amber starting off in a diner and continuing on their journey to uncover the mystery surrounding the red man. With a lot of promise from the first episode. The second had to be sure to deliver on fun, mystery and some sarcastic dialogue.

The story is really solid. Has a great direction and amazing characters that make the game full of life. I mean what isn’t appealing about a 10 year old girl running around with a sarcastic loud mouth teddy bear. It sounds crazy but it works. Having a gloomy setting with a noire feel puts this away from a lot of point and click games. Back in the day with Kings Quest and other similar titles made by sierra games, creating and cementing what a point and click adventure game is. Bear With Me goes back to basics with interesting puzzles and unique situations to get through. Modern point and click games such as most of the TellTale games, have a modern unique take on the classic style. Bear With Me is great because it’s simple and classic.

One of the great things about this is that it is fully voice acted, and is done so with great talent. Especially Ted and Amber who have the most dialogue that anyone. This is a great addition to the first episode. I don’t want to get into all of the details of the story because you should go out and play this game yourself. I could not recommend it enough. The only small issue i have is that sometimes the puzzles are a little difficult, hard to tell what to do at certain times and is easily able to get stuck. Which can be frustrating, but doesn’t diminish how great the game is. I’m definitely going to recommend to my friends and play through again. Bear With Me is bleak, sarcastic and full of life. This deserves all the praise. I give it a 4.5 Stars. Go get this game. You will not regret it.
